ASTM A335 Grade P5 Alloy Steel Seamless Pipes is a high temperature service chrome moly alloy pipes that can be used with forming operations such as bending. The SA335 Grade P5 is one of the grades within the ASTM A335 alloy, A335 P5 Welded Pipes. It is highly resistant to oxidation at elevated temperatures. The chromium content increases the tensile and yield strength while increasing the hardness at room temperature as well. The SA335 P5 Material, ASTM A335 Grade P5 has a combination of chromium, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium and molybdenum in its composition.

The minimum tensile strength is 415MPa and the minimum yield strength for this alloy is 205MPa. The P5 grade could be fully annealed or isothermal annealed. It could also be normalized and tempered at 675 degree Celsius or Subcritical annealed at 715-745 degrees Celsius. The wall thickness differs for the different grades and types and the diameter varies as well. The schedules vary from 20 to XXS and heavier depending on the application requirements.
